My Teaching Philosophy

“Teaching is learning“. I found that when we share our knowledge (by teaching), we will gain more (in terms of knowledge)..

I do implement Constructivism in my teaching process. In class, I like to teach and ask students. By asking them, we know that they do understand and enjoy the class.

However, when I assess my student, I integrate Cognitivism by using Quizizz online platform. Students can do (Assignments and Quizzes) whenever they wish to and anywhere they like to do.

Teaching porfolio should include the following:

A. Introduction of theory and philosophy in teaching and learning that shows the level of scholar of the nominee

  • Philosophy of teaching.
  • Integration of Insan Sejahtera values in the courses.
  • Write-up on the implementation of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
  • Details on the Courses taught:
    • List of courses that have been taught
    • Course framework and the number of students
    • Samples of teaching and learning materials (such as notes, teaching modules, digital learning materials, CDs, teaching aids, blogs, e-learning, etc).
    • Implementation of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.

B. Evidence of innovation and creativity implemented in teaching

C. Effectiveness of teaching in improving the quality of learning

  • Results of students’ achievement.
  • SFS report and/or other student feedback method
  • Samples of students’ works
  • Testimonials/letters of appreciation from students, colleagues, etc.

D. Evidence of the implementation of innovation and creativity in learning evaluation.

E. Evidence on the improvement of teaching and learning through reflective practices and research.

F. Knowledge and experience sharing in teaching and learning through conferences and publication.

G. Supervision and coaching activity.

  • Description of the activities
  • Level of programmes (Bachelor, Masters and PhD (list of students’ names)
  • Outcome of the activities.

Optional: Copies of the evidence (certificates/ documents) can be placed separately from the Teaching Porfolio.

Candidate will undergo Teaching Simulation and Interview- the details are in the section 3.52 in the guidelines.

My teaching Philosophy: Teaching/Sharing the knowledge is a learning process, and while teaching, we actually gain the ‘ilm (knowledge).
